La La Land
It has been a few years since a film has made such a strong impact on me. Seeing the film ‘La la land’ was such a memorable experience due to …
Polish pioneer composer and pianist with over 20 years of experience.
Written and performed by Roksana Wawrzyniecka I would love hear your feedback, so if you would like to leave a review, please do so here. In 2003 I left Poland and my comfort zone of classical music behind. I said goodbye to many people I love and my piano professor Aleksey Kosenko. I moved to London to study popular music. I wanted to find my own style, my own musical language. This EP is the result of that journey. Thank you to everyone who believes in me, loves me, inspires me and supports me. Thanks also to those who have challenged me.
I hope you enjoy listening to this album as much as I enjoyed writing it. With passion, love and acceptance. Roksana.

Roksana Wawrzyniecka is a London based composer, pianist and piano teacher. She has two degrees in music – both in Poland and in the UK. Her beloved piano teacher Aleksiej Kosenko (Stanislav Neuhaus assistant in Moscow) deeply impacted her piano perspective.
Roksana started her piano journey as concert pianist but soon venture out of classical music world in order to accompany silent movies at film festivals and study jazz piano. Eventually she focused more on composing which led to her creating music for theatre show “Pinter&Crisis” for Cardboard Citizens in London and the “Seagull” for Theatre Technics.
She also released her first EP “Transition” containing 5 piano solo tracks.
Her next project, the full solo album “Courage” (12 pieces) was acknowledged even before getting published.
The BBC used the title track “Courage” for a fascinating three part documentary The human body: Secrets of your life revealed.
Chris and Xand van Tulleken uncover the latest secrets of our bodies.
Roksana is currently writing another EP “Lamu archipelago” which is inspired by her trip to the Kenyan island Lamu.
She is also working on her first rhythmic book to help people around the world tackle piano hands coordination.
I truly love playing the piano and as a result I have completed 2 music degrees. Teaching people who love it too is very important to me. Level doesn’t really matter as long as people truly want to learn. I specialise in teaching adults and teenagers.
All my students are proficient in sight reading which I consider to be one of the most useful skills in piano playing. It took me years to develop a method of sharpening this skill in order to help my students learn how to do this. No matter how difficult it seems at first or what setbacks they may have had in the past.
I am in the process of writing a rhythmic training book that supports this journey and occasionally I am writing piano exercises for particular students needs, in order for them to break through their barriers.
I also teach composition, theory, ear training and prepare my students for ABRSM exams. Full DBS check and double vaccinated. Location close to West Norwood, Streatham, Dulwich, Herne Hill and Brixton.

Exciting, dramatic and above all moving. I adored ‘Transition’, was lifted by ‘Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence’ and smiled tons through the delightful ‘Butterfly Lullaby’. This is tremendously evocative and touching music by a genuine composer of the heart! Thank you for making my day!
I have learned how to read sight music confidently when I had only played by ear before, and have taken piano grade exams which I’d always avoided when I was younger. I’ve also performed for audiences at the regular concerts Roksana arranges which has helped my confidence playing in front of others.
Makes you think and wonder! Why is this piece titled moths night?
I try to imagine im a moth flying around a light and then try to relate and compare myself (as a moth of course) to the tune.
True music for the heart and mind. GREAT STUFF
